Monday, a generally calm day for world markets, nevertheless brought the news that Ireland is locking down in the face of a fresh outbreak, while the world awaits what could be a crucial hearing of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday that will consider whether any vaccine candidates are worthy of emergency approval.
