Daley Blind suffers embarrassing Instagram howler as Manchester United star copies and pastes PR message on social media

  • Daley Blind took to Instagram to promote Manchester United's new third kit
  • He simply copied and pasted a tweet to write from his social media manager
  • Message was deleted and uploaded correctly but not before fans spotted error
  • He joins Victor Anichebe and Christian Beneteke in making social media gaffe

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has become the latest Premier League star to suffer a copy and paste gaffe on social media.

Similar to Victor Anichebe's Twitter shocker last season, Dutchman Blind seems to have accidentally copied and pasted more than he should into his message.

The Holland star took to Instagram to promote United's new third kit, revealing his excitement at debuting the grey strip for his side's next pre-season fixture.

The problem was, Blind simply copied and pasted a message from his social media manager — including the introductions.

Blind's full post read: 'Hi mate, would you be ok posting this image on your social channels with the following copy?

'Ready for the next match in the new @adidasfootball third shirt! Let's go!! @manchesterunited #HereToCreate.'

The message was quickly deleted and uploaded correctly but not before fans spotted the error — and it soon did the rounds on social media.

Blind's team-mate Juan Mata posted a similar message on Twitter to promote the third strip, showing him how it's done by ensuring there was no gaffe.

He joins the likes of Anichebe and Christian Benteke to make the mistake, with both strikers making the CTRL+ALT C error last year.

In October, after a last-minute defeat by West Ham, then Sunderland striker Anichebe posted: 'Can you tweet something like [–] Unbelievable support yesterday great effort by the lads! Hard result to take! But we go again!'

And Benteke made a similar mistake following Palace's 4-0 win over Hull, forgetting to remove the word 'caption' before posting: 'Great win today, a goal and another year [in the] Premier League! Thanks for the amazing support during the match!'
