Jacob Rees-Mogg has announced the birth of his sixth child, a baby boy.

His new baby is named Sixtus Dominic Boniface Christopher, and joins his other children Peter, Mary, Thomas, Anselm and Alfred.

The Conservative MP announced the birth on his Instagram account, writing that he and his wife Helena were in a state of "great joy" after the new arrival.

One overjoyed fan wrote: "Six? There'll be no room left in No.10 when you get there - which you will. Congratulations, Moggy!"

Another said: "The Mogg, the merrier! Congratulations!"

One person pointed out that Mr Mogg now has five sons - and that they could have a glittering pop career ahead of them.

They wrote: "Now you've got five sons, can we be expecting them to form an upbeat disco group in the near future?"
